Hoax: Recommended by a Lawyer – Facebook Privacy Notice 2017

Facebook Recommended by a Lawyer Privacy Notice 2017 HoaxEvery year since 2012, after Facebook became a publicly traded company, a “Facebook Privacy Notice” surfaces.  It’s happening again in February, 2017.

This is garbage.  This is NOT true.  This will NOT do anything for you legally.  Seriously… it takes less than 30 seconds to do a little research and realize that this is a hoax.

Below is the most recent notice that is being passed around on Facebook:

Recommended by a lawyer.

The violation of privacy can be punished by law. Facebook is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you haven’t issued a statement at least once, it will be technically understood that you allow the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in your updates of profile status.

I declare that I have not given my permission to Facebook to use my photos or any information in my profile, my updates and my statuses!

Make a copy paste – place your finger on the text, click on copy, make a post and paste. Do not share!!!

Social Networking tools can be very powerful.  Unfortunately, too many just “shoot from the hip” and pass around regurgitated crap not realizing it’s inaccurate, incorrect, or entirely wrong altogether.  What Facebook and other social networking platforms can or cannot do with your information is clearly outlined in their policies and “TOS” (Terms of Service).  You can easily find these for all social platforms.

PLEASE… before passing around information just because your friends do, take 30 seconds to do some research.  Google is your friend.

Want to know more about Facebook’s “Policy”?  You’ll find it here.
